  1. I thought you said you weren't up to much at taking photographs!

Lol at the chick peeking round at dad. :D The photos of the insects are wonderful John, especially the last one. I enlarged it and insect's wings are stunning. If I ever change the design of my blog, can I have your permission to use this as a header/banner?

    What camera do you use?

  2. Nice to see the Wall Browns, always nice to get a couple together in a shot, I haven't seen any so far this year.

  4. Hi guys, thanks for your comments.
Lesley, flattery will get you everywhere with me. I would be very privileged if you used that insect pic as a header for your blog. There is one consideration though............you must find out what it is. I think it is a day/micro moth ( i was hoping someone would name it for me) My camera is about 4 years old and is a Canon DSLR 400D, i've been dreaming of better models for some time now, but.......
    Cheers
Hi kirkstall... They were seen at Lamesley Meadows which is part of Gateshead, not far from the Angel of the North. There has been a lack of butterflies, damselflies and dragonflies so far generally with the chilly winds we've had so far. Lets hope it keeps warming up more so these beautiful creatures can display that beauty.
    John,
You must get up to Killy soon coz as soon as the Grebes have all of their chicks they will take to the water and be quite distant. They are stunning at close quarters. Looking forward to see what you captured.
    Thanks to you all
    John

  5. I've been googling for almost an hour to try and identify the insect! The search will have to continue tomorrow. :)

  7. I was thinking the same thing. :O)

I was looking at the first three photos again John.... in the first one the little humbug is peeping out at dad and then it's putting on a fine impersonation of mum. :D
