Killingworth Lake

Following Killy Birders post re. Great Crested Grebes here are some pics taken recently of the 2 adults with the 3 juveniles on the larger lake. Anyone who would like to see G C Grebes relatively close up should pop along. I reckon this is possibly an overlooked site for birdwatching but i am personally looking forward to see what exotic species call in over the coming autumn and winter months. I have been calling past on my way to Big Waters for the last three weeks and spent a cracking couple of hours last week watching this family. Tell you what, these kids are well fed by one of the parents who fished non stop all the while i was there. Never coming back to the kids empty beaked.
