Was my first thought when i saw this Barn Owl hunting in the Druridge Bay area in dismal conditions.
Although the rain had eased a little it was still raining quite heavily and i was slightly taken aback when i saw it. Three days of almost continual driving wind and rain had obviously taken its toll and the Barnie must have seen this as a window of opportunity.
Not great images as the light was awful as you can imagine. The weather is supposed to improve (something i've heard for the last couple of days) so lets hope for all our beautiful owls this time the weathermen are correct.
Good luck to the Barny John, bloody shitty weather is getting on my tits!!

DeleteBut i know exactly how you feel.
I saw it in the afternoon John. It was looking really bedraggled, flying around, weakly in the rain. You would think it would find more food in the barn, than the sodden fields.
ReplyDeleteNot good to hear Rob. I didn't see it for long as the rain got heavy again pretty quickly. Last night it was still clear & dry with little wind so hopefully it and many other owls managed to feed. Please god.
